March 4, 2014

Dear customer,

This is a significant day for Karelia Software, and for you too! This morning we announced that Karelia has acquired Potion Factory.

Why? At Karelia Software, we’ve long been fanatic Mac users and developers, who prize elegant design and a user experience that’s helpful while staying out of your way. Potion Factory aligns with these values. Potion Factory creates scrumptious Mac and iOS apps, with a high value on creativity and humaneness, like few other developers do. We have great respect for their design sense.

We acquired Potion Factory both for its apps and its talent. We already have many great ideas for the future of Potion Factory’s products: The Hit List, I Love Stars and Tangerine! on Mac OS X, and for The Hit List and Five Moku on iOS. More importantly, Potion Factory’s development talent brings to our team a design expertise that matches well with our vision for Sandvox. Partnering with Potion Factory is awesome because we get great apps, their talent and, together, we can move Potion Factory’s apps forward faster, plus do amazing things with Sandvox.

We think you’ll love what we have in store and can’t wait to show you. This day would also not be possible without the involved, passionate support of you, our customers. Ultimately, you’re the reason we do what we do. We love hearing the stories of how you use Sandvox, and look forward to hearing your discoveries surrounding The Hit List, I Love Stars, Tangerine! and Five Moku.

Meanwhile, just wanted to take a moment to say, “Thank you,” and we hope you’ll join us in welcoming the Potion Factory crew aboard.

Sincerely,

Dan Wood
President, Karelia Software
