cdresel: this really depends on how your browser is configured to handle .mp3 files. In most cases browsers will open to a new page and play those right on the page, rather than download the audio file. I generally find actually playing a file preferable to having to manage a download, but I do see how iWeb has made this a bit easier with specific buttons.

I've put it on our list but we have not begun work on it yet.

Interestingly, the KCRW link starts downloading rather than playing. Anything different about that file? Perhaps their webserver is vending the files slightly differently? (A server-side configuration in other words.)

Is the page referenced above built with Sandvox? I clicked on the download link for one of the stories and it downloaded as you would like it to making me think it was made with something else. Currently it seems the only way to do this now with SV is to zip the mp3 and add it as a download page then link to it from wherever you want in your site. It won't automatically open in iTunes and play as the one I just tried does and it means a lot more work for you but they will still be downloadable this way.

Terrence, will separate download buttons ever be a part of Sandvox? And if so -- can you give a ballpark estimate of when? Instructions to right-click are pretty cumbersome ... especially since in my case we're talking about hundreds of files.

Separate download buttons for audio (like iWeb has) are not yet supported in Sandvox. Typically a site visitor can "right-click" on a link and download it to their computer.

I am at a loss. I need people to be able to download my audio files ... I'm a public radio producer, and this is just what people expect these days. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to enable this using Sandvox (or anything else for that matter).

Any suggestions? Help!!
