Change line and paragraph spacing in bullet point text -- ideas?

You might try a Web search using the arguments, why ems not pixels or points

Normally, line spacing is not specified in your HTML: it's specified in CSS, which, unless you've used Site Code Injection or Page Code Injection, is in a different file.

A better way of examining the code produced by Sandvox, is to Export your site locally (or publish it, if you like) and then examine it with the Web Inspector, which is part of Safari (found under the Develop menu of Safari, which must be turned on in Preferences). The Web Inspector allows you to see all the elements that go to make up a page: HTML, CSS, graphics…

That solved the problem; thanks so much!

One oddity: I had to set the container width much wider than the required space in order to get things to fit. My site menus needed about 550 px of horizontal space, but giving the container 700 px of width didn't prevent a line wrap. But when I set the site menu-container width to 900 px (wider than the available space), the line break went away and the content fit into the 550 px. Here's the final form that works:

#sitemenu-container {
   width:900px;
   position:relative; top:-100px; left:120px;
}

Have I failed to understand something, or are orbiting mind control lasers interfering?

Disqus comments

Hi there,

I've been having problems with Disqus since the latest update. On my blog index page I can't get the latest blog post comments to show up. If I have comments checked on the parent page and comments clicked on the new blog page, I get old blog comments from weeks ago. My fix is to have the COMMENTS checked in the objects inspector but that will just say 20 comments as a link. I'd prefer to have the new comments on the Index page. Is that possible?

Something new I have done is stopped using the titles on the blog as I don't like the colour they come up in Archives. Could this be causing the problem? I just uncheck the page title box, put the title in as text and then change the title in the blog list to the left.

One last thing, on the index page there are only two of the photos showing but on the current blog post there are three. This has been happening for a while too. Can I fix it?

I LOVE Sandvox and thought I had everything sorted but this new update has screwed me up a bit. I realize I can't post links here but my website is my name dot come if you need to take a look.

Thanks
Barbara DeLeo

Thanks, Erasmus. Wish I had the ability – but mostly the courage – to try. But I think Charlie has me figured out. No offense to the fine folks at Sandvox, but if I were capable of doing what it takes to change the template that way I'd probably not be using Sandvox ;-)

How can I increase line spacing in body type?

Oh dear, smart a-se tried to type it instead of pasting it in.

Worked fine when pasted in, didn’t it.

Well, almost.

After a couple of successful page attempts, I did Site Code Injection without the benefit of reading your second and third pars, and just did what I did for the page. It worked fine, except …

I had formatted one lump of text as dot points and the line spacing did not change within that. I tried a site injection using the line you gave and that also left the dot point text unchanged.

So Roberto est indeed mon oncle, as we say in our schoolboy Fwench (failed), but with a little Gaulish oddity.

Thanks for your help, daf.

Cheers, geoff
