Publishing Sandvox with Network Solutions: Error Messages

Hello!

I have spent several days attempting to publish our Non-Profit website through Network Solutions. They have told me they have done all that they can, so I must be making a mistake at some point. (This is my first time using Sandvox and publishing.)

I am receiving the error message: Operation Timed Out. Unable to Complete Tests.  This displays when trying to create/establish the directories during the Host Setup.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much for your help! I'm ready to pull my hair out!

Re: Publishing Sandvox with Network Solutions: Error Messages

It seems that when I have ftp before my host name, then my connection times out and it is unable to establish directories.

If I delete ftp.hostname then I receive this message:

However, now I am receiving an error message code 404:

• Contacting 03448c9.netsolhost.com…
• Establishing FTP connection… Server reached.
• Creating Directories… Done.
• Attempting to upload a test file… Done.
• Attempting to download the test file…
• Unable to download file from URL: http://www.acceleratedhorizons.org/Temp … BAA76.html
• Received the error message: Server returned status code 404

Unable to download test file from server. You may  have your host's URL format misconfigured.

??????

My host is Network Solutions...someone please help!

Re: Publishing Sandvox with Network Solutions: Error Messages

Are you trying to publish to, www.acceleratedhorizons.org ?
If so your host setup should look like..
URL: http://www.acceleratedhorizons.org
Hostname: ftp.acceleratedhorizons.org
Upload Method: FTP on Port 21
Username / Password
You can then use the 'browse' button to navigate to the document root, it is usually something like public_html or www

Re: Publishing Sandvox with Network Solutions: Error Messages

Contacting ftp.acceleratedhorizons.org
• Establishing FTP connection… Server reached.
• Creating Directories… Done.
• Attempting to upload a test file… Done.
• Attempting to download the test file…
• Unable to download file from URL: http://www.acceleratedhorizons.org/Temp … DA8AD.html
• Received the error message: Server returned status code 404

Unable to download test file from server. You may have your host's URL format misconfigured.

THis is the error message I now get when trying to publish content. I successfully published content all last week. Today when I tried to upload new data, it wouldn't check for saved content. So I went to edit host and this error has occurred. HELP!

Re: Publishing Sandvox with Network Solutions: Error Messages

I am having this problem after getting into Mexico. I checked with my Host and they told me to setup enhanced access in my control panel with them which registers this location with them. However, that has not solved my problem with Sandvox.

Fetch connects by my simply changing the settings to FTP. Sandvox still gives me this:

• Contacting www.parrishjones.net
• Establishing FTP connection… Server reached.
• Creating Directories…
• Attempting to upload a test file…
• Operation timed out.
• Received the error message: The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1001.)

I guess what baffles me is the timed out thing. It all worked fine until I got to Mexico so there has to be a glitch resulting from being in this location. My connection is slow, but not all that slow, at least not much slower than DSL in the U.S.

Re: Publishing Sandvox with Network Solutions: Error Messages

I have just published my first website using Sandvox (2.6) to Network Solutions, but my browser (Safari on Mac) displays a very bizarre thing. The home page looks OK but the others look like some of my stuff in a site that deals with articles.

Can you be more specific about the problem you're experiencing?
