Google Apps

I host my site on A2Hosting. I have set up a Google Apps account to handle email so that emails have the same domain name as the website (I prefer doing this than going through the host's servers). I have set up the correct MX Entry settings in the A2Hosting cPanel, and have done the necessary setting up from Google's end. I can send emails from the Google Apps email account, but emails sent to the Google Apps account disappear into the ether. The dashboard of my Google Apps account says, "We're checking your MX records... This may take up to 48 hours." That gives me potentially another 28 hours to wait. I have been in touch with A2Hosting Support and they think that everything is in order.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience, specifically with A2Hosting and Google Apps? I have setup a Google Apps account with another domain on another host, and the process was all up and working in under four hours.
