I have not used this yet, not sure I will. The reason is, I can't figure out where to put a file on my A2Hosting account, get the link, and be able to use it. I have tried using the ViewDoc plugin with no success.
I'm about to start adding videos to my site so I don't have time to experiment. Is it possible to simply DRAG a video into Media5 and the publish it?
IOW… just like I do with the Sandvox Media Placeholder object. Which works. Is there a reason to change? What would Media5 do for me, (assuming I can find a way to add video to it or upload a video to a place where I can link to it), that the Media Placeholder does not do for me? - JamesJM

James, I bought Media5, but it appears to be made to catch videos already posted somewhere on the net and put them into a Sandvox site. I'm having good luck simply inserting a media placeholder into Sandvox, then going to the Object Inspector and selecting the file on my disk I want to use.

Right, Steve… I am currently using the same workflow. Add Media Placeholder, drag and drop the video. I was curious, however, about Media5, and if it offered anything 'extra'. I haven't seen any reason to use it unless it's as you say… to link to video somewhere else that is NOT yours. For your own videos… why use it? - JamesJM

Highly unlikely I'll be using Media5. I worked this entire evening with A2Hosting and simply could not put a file on it and then link to it. And I'm doing precisely what they are suggesting.
Same thing happened with ViewDoc. Although with ViewDoc I did get it to work one time, and fleetingly, by putting the file in Dropbox.
I would have liked to have used ViewDoc because it meant I could have modified the page with the ViewDoc object on it from ANYWHERE. You saw my site, I could have updated game scores and standings from my phone. It's not to be…
Like most things, the 'hard way' is usually the only way that works. :) - JamesJM

Well, I actually got the problem of where to put the file on A2hosting and link to it worked out! I can type the URL in a browser and it will take you to the video… and play it.
Unfortunately, it would not work with Media5 from my website… so enough of that. I'll just use the old way, it works, and perhaps check back every few months to see if Media5 is working. - JamesJM
