Sandvox 2.5.2 BETA (Lion Large Document Support) download

Following our 2.5/2.5.1 update, we've had reports from more than a few of you that Lion's Versions feature causes unacceptable delay when working with very, very large .sandvox documents. We're not exactly sure at what size document the problem becomes apparent, as that can depend on the speed of your Mac and the volume on which your documents are stored, but so far this appears to affect some people with documents > 1 GB.

We've also noticed that Apple's own apps, such as Keynote, have this problem, too. While we work on finding a solution, we wanted to get out to you the ability to turn off automatically saving each document version so that those of you with very large documents can continue to build great sites.

While not yet part of the official release stream, you can download the Sandvox 2.5.2 Beta for Lion from this post. Mac App Store customers will need to wait for an official release download.

2.5.2 adds a new Preference that turns off Versions for .sandvox documents. That should increase saving speed for those of you with very large documents.

Please note that this issue only affects users running OS X Lion. And only those who purchased Sandvox directly from Karelia can take advantage of the interim version. We hope to have a better update system in place for Mac App Store customers in the near future.
