I'm sure this must have been covered time and time again. But as a newbie to Sandvox and Mac publishng, I can't seem to find how to test my website before publishing. How do you make sure all browsers are going to handle your website equally or as close to it as they can get?

You're right, this has been asked many times.
You publish locally (to your own computer) using menu Publish>Export…
You test with the browsers you have installed on your computer, or, using Safari, you can get a good idea of how your site will function in other browsers by using menu Develop>User Agent> and selecting the browser you wish to test.
Be aware, however, that you will still not be sure of how your site will look on in other browsers, or even in Safari on a different Mac; a lot depends on installed fonts. Do not use "fancy" fonts (ones that you have installed specifically for use in your site), and remember that not everyone has the same set of "normal" fonts that you have. I once knew a graphic designer whose first job upon getting a new computer was to remove from his system all "traditional" fonts such as Times, Helvetica, Arial (which he hated). If a browser does not find a font as specified in your site design, it will substitute something else and you have very little control over this.
It says "Avenger," but I am just a Sandvox user who has been assigned the title of Avenger here in order to be able to delete spam messages. http://davidneale.eu/

I was looking for the same information, so thank you for the answer. Here's my related question now that I've exported to a folder on my desktop following the publish->export process you described above. I'm not sure how to see how my site will look from what's in that folder. I tried opening it by double-clicking the "index.html" icon. When I do this, I do not see anything but the text. No pictures, no design, etc. Either I'm not opening this correctly to see the test version of my site, or I'm doing something terribly wrong in creating the site. ??

Drag & drop the index.html file to an open Safari window.

It's still not showing pictures or the "theme" with the color, etc. ??

Thanks macdafydd! It is similar on the windows side depending upon your software of course. I just wasn't sure and probably just didn't search deep enough. Yes very true and also not everyone is using the same version of browser as well.

RobW521, you've clearly done something wrong, or are trying to open a file other than one exported by Sandvox.
If you wish, send me the index.html file and I'll have a look at it: david at davidneale dot eu

"Rob, you've clearly done something wrong"--Wow, for a second I thought my wife wrote that. :) Anyway, thanks so much for the help. I just sent you that file and two screenshots of what I see when I'm working on my site in Sandvox.
