Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone might know what is happening to some of my image files as I upload them to my webhost provider? The images look fine on my computer as I work on them in Photoshop and then in Sandvox, but after they get uploaded and appear on my website, many images have serious banding/streaking on the right hand side of the images. To see an example, you can see the problem now at www.rogerhostin.com
I am wondering now if maybe my memory modules are going on me? or maybe there is a problem in the upload from Sandvox? or maybe there is a problem with my webhost? Any help anyone can provide is very much appreciated.

Try changing the image filename extension from jpeg to jpg, then upload it again.
It says "Avenger," but I am just a Sandvox user who has been assigned the title of Avenger here in order to be able to delete spam messages. http://davidneale.eu/

Interesting. All image files I place into Sandvox are already .jpg so I am not sure about that.

Thank-you. I found the problem. My images were initially 800 pixels wide. After I shrank them down to 700 pixels wide, the problem went away. All is well.

Strange, but good that you've solved the problem. Nice photo, too. HDR?

Sorry, little off topic here, Roger. Good stuff... your photographs I mean. For nearly 20 years I was an avid backpacker. Most of my hikes here in CA, the Sierra Nevada's but also the Coast Range... and I managed to get out of state for a few hikes as well... in Arizona, Oregon, Idaho, but I was never able to put together a trip to the Canadian Rockies where I believe I would like to have gone more than any other place... maybe someday.
A few years ago I bought a motorcycle and began touring the USA.. so backpacking came to a grinding halt. This year I'm returning to the Sierra Nevada's donning a backpack once again.
Anyway, thanks for the visuals of the Rockies. Hope to see them in person one day. - JamesJM

Thanks maccdafydd. Yes, the homepage is is a 3 image HDR composite. I thought that was odd too about what solved my image corruption issue. There's a chance it was something else, but my webhost provider said the html pages for my images were likely at fault.
and thank-you JamesJM. The Rockies are certainly spectacular. The nice thing about the Canadian Rockies is, even though there is a lot of great stuff in the backcountry, it's amazing what you can photograph from the side of a road. I hope you can get up here some day.
