Go to:
http://www.datalogica.nl/node/download (scroll down, you will see Download Legacy I)
Click the CGI PROTECT link and download it.
Read the readme.txt (in the downloaded ZIP file) on how to protect a page.

Sandvox does not offer the ability to password protect a site.
This is because such protection must be provided by the site's host. Sandvox has no control over an individual host's settings and so cannot set a password for the site.
However, your host may offer the ability to password protect the entire site or a portion of it. If so, this can usually be carried out using their web control panel (or similar feature).
For full details, please contact your hosting company.

If Rapiweaver can do it, so should Sandvox:

No idea how Rapidweaver manages to do it, as it really does depend on the provider. For more information on that, see, for example: http://www.hwg.org/lists/hwg-servers/passwords.html
You can introduce a relatively simple Javascript password protection, which should work with all modern browsers and with all providers, but remains Javascript… For an example of this, see http://tashian.com/htmlguide/password.html or do a web search using arguments such as password protect web page script.
It says "Avenger," but I am just a Sandvox user who has been assigned the title of Avenger here in order to be able to delete spam messages. http://davidneale.eu/

Simply impossible.
It makes no sense for Karelia to integrate this function into Sandvox. And furthermore, I don't know any WYSIWYG editor (even Dreamweaver $399) that can actually create this function.
I know people that have their web site hosted on Windows OS servers. So, .htaccess and .htpasswd will not work at all.
There is much more available to you through the marvelously simple .htaccess file, just surf the web.

Go to the C-Panel on your host and set a password for the directories.
Well, yes, assuming your provider offers this facility. Unless you use the scripting route, password protection is something you should ask your provider about.
