I get this same error message. I have from day 1 of Sandvox 2. But since I only needed to upload, I figured it wouldn't be a problem.

It hasn't been for me, though my husband has had problems with his version on the same host.
The host is Dreamhost.

We are on dreamhost too and getting the exact same error. Right now I'm uploading via CyberDuck to see how all that goes. Kinda makes the whole 'one button publish' feature pointless to me though.

Re: FTP Upload Problem

Hi! I recently acquired Sandvox and uploaded a site to the host's web server. There seemed to be no problem after I published but when I checked the site, it says that the site is still under construction. Can anyone help me? Will appreciate it a lot.

Re: FTP Upload Problem

Try JimK's solution, provided at http://www.karelia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2368

It says "Avenger," but I am just a Sandvox user who has been assigned the title of Avenger here in order to be able to delete spam messages. http://davidneale.eu/

Re: FTP Upload Problem

I asked Karelia Support (KS) why the web server couldn't find the Home page.  I found a temp file in my Sites folder which says that it was created by Sandvox to verify that the computer was reachable over the internet. When I tried to view the site again, it was already there.

Thanks, Avenger, for suggesting the solution. Might not be able to use it for now, though.

My question is: how long does it take for the site to be viewed over the internet after being successfully connected and published by Sandvox?

Re: FTP Upload Problem

Sounds like you are still waiting for DNS to propagate for your site to be seen on the Internet. That can take 24-48 hours if you're just setting up a brand new domain or moving an old domain to a new service provider.

I'm surprised though that Sandvox went through Host Setup successfully. Usually it will complain when it a) uploads the test file successfully but then b) can't reach it by testing its URL. I would have expected the b part to fail. I would go back through Setup Host and make sure it completes all the way to the very end.

Re: FTP Upload Problem

Thanks, Terrence, for the info that it "can take 24-48 hours". That makes sense because it's a new domain. Which leads me to my next question, how long will it take for the site to be updated after changes have been published successfully?

Re: FTP Upload Problem

My experience has always been with iWeb and now Sandvox, that it happens immediately. (If you don't see the changes, refresh your browser.)

Re: FTP Upload Problem

The changes are reflected immediately in the files of the host. However, a user might need to do a browser refresh/reload in order to see them; otherwise old pages from the cache might still be displayed.

Re: FTP Upload Problem

I am having the same problem too, my host is ipage.... also sent support ticket to Sandvox but no reply for 2 days...

Wasting so much time just to resolve this problem and still not resolve...... I am using MacBook and thats why I bought Sandvox to do the web build.
Previously used Window base Web build and it works well when I published.   Getting frustrated with Sandvox.... web created not reflected
after publishing..... then why do I need Sandvox then.. ! Still hope to resolve this problem so that I can put Sandvox into good use.....;(

Re: FTP Upload Problem

Posting an screenshot of your host setup parameters would help, otherwise the people who might be able to help are working blind.

Re: FTP Upload Problem

Hi, when I tried other design templates from Sandvox, it works fine. The problem is only seen with the design template that I bought additionally
from Kuler Solutions (design template for Sandvox web builder) with the product name as SVDESIGN - My Life which the display are not working with no updates and no graphics after publishing.

I have written to Kuler Solutions to get a refund or replacement of another workable design template, if they are not able to resolve the problem.
Hopefully they will response...
