How to create links to a slideshow?

I've seen at least one "example site" where a regular hyperlink starts a index object slide show versus actually needing to click on a photo embedded in the indexed object..

I can't see how to do that in the instructions or hints anywhere? I've attempted to simply capture the URL from my published website, but that doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for.

I was 100% certain I saw an example website after the 2.5 introduction of slide show objects that you could click on a link and take you to the album page and start the slide show automatically.

I've examined the raw HTML and poured over the documentation and just can't quite figure that out.

Any thoughts?

I just want that "automagic slide show" link to actually start the slide show vs. having to poke at one of the photo thumbnails, but for the life of me I can't figure out what's happening when I click on the thumbnail that would duplicate the action from a hyperlink.

Well, it's not a function of the URL to start the slideshow. Make a Slide Show type page in Sandvox and pull your images into it, resizing the slideshow object as required. With the slideshow object selected, go to the Object inspector and make sure the Advance slides every… checkbox is checked. Your slideshow will now start and advance automatically when its page is displayed.

Thanks - thinking back, I can see how that would apply to the example I saw, which was a link from a separate page.. Grrr.. I want a link on the same page that ISN'T the thumbnail of a index object to start the slide show..

Are you asking for a sort of "Start slideshow" button? And would you then also need a "Stop slideshow" button?

You could, of course, make a slideshow in iPhoto and export. You won't need thumbnails and you'll be given a start-Pause button to use, as part of the object itself. Just drag and drop the exported file ont a Sandvox page.
