Hello out there.
I have built a site that has a flash banner at the top. Problem is I can get it to center!!! I have a friend who made it and uploaded it to my web host (A2 as recommended) It is centered UNTIL I update my site. Not sure how to fix this... as in is it him or is it from me updating on Sandvox.
Any help would be great as this is driving me crazy!
Thank you!

Remember that Flash objects do not show in iOS devices, such as iPad, iPhone, iPod. If you wish to reach the widest audience, it might be better simply to reconsider the use of Flash.
It says "Avenger," but I am just a Sandvox user who has been assigned the title of Avenger here in order to be able to delete spam messages. http://davidneale.eu/

I am having it redone in HTML5.... but even then does not solve my centering issue. Need to fix that first, any advice???
Thanks!

Unfortunately you have some pretty broken HTML and I'm not sure how to clean it up. Maybe your friend can help?
For starters, you've added it to the <head> section of the document, rather than the <body>. Why? Stuff in <head> is usually not visible. It might work better in the body, but that's not something I can experiment with here.
More importantly, you seem to have introduced additional <head> tags. Take out <head> and </head> from code injection and see if that helps. Sandvox supplies those tags for you.
But I'm also not sure you've put the banner in the right place. It might work better as a raw HTML object or using Code Injection but in Document Body, top large field?
(A guess. You'll need to play with it.)

Thank you Terrence,
I have tried playing with the code in the document body. Still no luck. This is seriously driving me insane. How about asking this question... from the beginning.
What is the proper way to put on a banner INSTEAD of a logo. Thats all I'm trying to do. I have used the "simply" template and just need our banner to fit properly. I did use code injection to do it the first time (I read online somewhere this was how to do it).
I love the rest of my Sandvox site but need this to work properly, otherwise it does not look professional at all!
Thanks so much!

Just one other thing...
I choose Sandvox because of its ease to use and SEO capabilities. I have strong competition in my area and NEED to get to the first page of google when someone types, "tulbagh accommodation" "tulbagh bed and breakfast" "Tulbagh guesthouse"
I have done a lot of reading on this and tried to use the tools I have read about. Would anyone mind looking at my site and code and telling me what else I can do... How to fix the broken code etc.
Hard to find anyone else to do it, even my friend, because they don't use Sandvox (and don't seem to want to ): ) They are too good for it! Errrr.
Thank you so much!

Well, you seem to be confusing banner and logo. They are two different parts of the header area: the banner usually stretches the whole way across, whereas a logo is a much smaller area. The two are handled differently in Sandvox. Why not start with a static banner, in order to get your site up and looking presentable, and then work on the idea of incorporating a banner with moving images? Placing a static banner in Sandvox is a piece of cake; see http://www.karelia.com/sandvox/help/z/Banner.html
As for SEO, you need to complete the Meta description field at the bottom of each page in Sandvox, and provide Meta Tags/Keywords in the Page Inspector, Page tab for each page. That will give you at least a start in the murky area of SEO.

(Incidentally, your current banner is still in Flash.)

I know placing a static banner is a piece of cake... I just really want to use the banner I already paid for. Maybe I just need to resize it so that it fits the whole header area. Also, I don't have a static banner, just a logo and that looks stupid too, I tried (: Would love to get mine to work. I am paying to get it done in HTML5 but not until probably next month. So would just like to use what I have to get it to look respectable now.
As for SEO I have done the Meta Description, tags/keywords etc. And submitted the maps to google etc. Just thought maybe by looking you might see if I had gone astray somewhere.
Thanks again.

Change your keywords. They are currently, "Tulbagh accommodation, Tulbagh guesthouse, Tulbagh bed and breakfast, Tulbach, Tulbagh wedding, Tulbagh tourism." Instead use, "Tulbagh, Tulbach, accomodation, guesthouse, bed, and, breakfast, bed-and-breakfast, b&b, b+b, b, overnight, stay, weekend, countryside, swimming-pool, swimming, pool, garden, romance, romantic". After that, consider submitting the site to a search engine submission service, such as AddMe.
I know you want to get your animated banner to work, but at the moment it doesn't and what is there looks bad on desktop and laptop browsers and can't be seen at all on iOS devices. It therefore reflects badly on your business. Just for the time being, put something there that works on all devices and looks reasonable. Just by taking a partial screenshot of one moment of your animated banner and using that as a static banner for the time being will give you something. And then you will have time to sort the problems of an animated banner. Sandvox allows banner to be substituted by another image; although the Sandvox Help does not specify the formats allowed for this, it seems they are of the gif, jpeg, png variety, and that no movie formats are accepted. Therefore another way of placing your banner must be found. At the moment, I don't know a way of doing this, but I will certainly think about it. In the meantime, if you would send me the file flash_banner.swf, it would help (I'll see if I can convert it to HTML5 for a start).

macdaftdd is correct in that the banner portion of the Document > Appearance inspector is really for static images. So you can't use that to include a Flash banner. That said, there are products like BannerZest that have figured out how to make Flash banners and get them working inside Sandvox. (I personally haven't used that in a long time: I'm not a big fan of Flash. The HTML5 implementations supported by that and by Hype will likely have me looking at them again.) But these are not something that Sandvox integrates directly with out of the box, though certainly people have gotten them going.
So...I don't know how the people who prepared your Flash banner have prepared things. It may or may not be possible for me to offer suggestions. What code, precisely, did they give you to incorporate in your site?
