I have a stupid problem.
I am currently building a site that presents pictures. A lot of different pictures in a lot of different collections.
Example:
TRANSPORTATION
-Cars
--Car 1
--Car 2
--Car 3
-Wagons
--Wagon 1
--Wagon 2
-Horses
--Horse 1
--Horse 2
--Horse 3
--Horse 4
...etc.
So, when i go to the page "Transportations" I would like to see a Collection Index with a thumbnail image to the left, and some text to the right. If I click on the picture or the text I want to see a page that presents me with all pictures in that collection.
Sounds neat, right?
However, If I create a collection inside of a collection, I get *all* pictures from the enclosing Collection. Not so neat.
Is it possible to show only one thumbnail image from an enclosing collection page?

Here's an example:

I don't want to see all the pictures from all those sites, just the first picture. If I am interested, then I click on that picture and *then* I will be presented with an collection.
Does that make sense? :-/

Hi Carlsson,
If I understand what you want, yes it is possible. Here's a sample from our website.

I just nested a collection inside of a collection and it works fine.

Yes, that looks like the way I want it.
I think I notice the difference; Your "master" page is a Photo Album, while mine is an ordinary page with an Index Object created. This should behave the same as far as I know though....?

I have done it in my photo site. The master pages are always a photo collection and there are photo collections nested inside the photo collection page. I don't know if that makes any sense.
So when you open the master photo collection page all you see is a thumbnail of each sub photo collection.
Here is my site http://www.denis-fortin.ca/
When you go to the travel section and open it you'll see that each of the thumbnails represent a collection of photos.
Hope that helps.

Beautiful photos Denis!
Thanks for the answer folks, I have found an error; If I create new pages with the attribute "Photo Album" it ends up correctly. But if I create the collection manually (Objects > Indexes) it ends up wacko.
This means that
a/ There's an error with how Sandvox create photo collections.
or
b/ I have missed something.
I'll take a look into it later.
Thanks,

Object > Index defaults to "reveal everything".
You have to set each indexed item to "custom summary", then on the indexed page select which photo you want to have as the thumbnail w/in the parent index.
